A client brought a car he saus is consuming a lot of fuel.I confirmed it too black smoke coming out of exhaust n hard starting after it has been running a couple of minutes. I have no power on fuse 18 (fuel pump) so fuel pump was bridged to get ignition power. I removed bridge gave ignition power to fuse 18 but still pump runs continuously as long as ignition is on. How can I solve problem?

Did you check the fuel injectors and fuel lines? On something as old as the E36 the fuel injectors may have worn seals, especially if they are original to the car or are several years old and may have been rebuilt but the seals are shot again. They do sell machines to test them as well so you can use one of those for testing and see what happens outside of the car. If that doesn't work (and they are in good shape), check the sparkplugs. If the injectors are bad you will need to either find brand new Bosch OE for this car (same type as the "OEM" BMW ones) or reconditioned BMW OEM Bosch.
At this point, BMW probably no longer sells the parts so it's either buying new OE from Bosch or rebuilt ones that were once sold by BMW. Mercedes does the same with Bosch parts and jacks the price up with a 3-pointed star engraved on the part but if you can find a place to find the OE injector for your Mercedes (or the Bosch part#), then you save the "3-pointed star" tax.
If neither of these help, get a compression tester and make sure the reading is in line with the spec it should be at. If it's out of spec and very worn the engine needs to be rebuilt. The spec is based on the engine, but the gauge should give you a good feel.

Is the pump supposed to run continuous on ignition? What are the effects? If not then how? How can I get a circuit diagram for the fuel system
The owner claims to have changed injectors from a presumably working vehicle but since you said they are old cars most likely they may be worn too. Can a continuously running pump have a negative effect?
@levykatuli The owner may not have done it recently enough to completely rule it out. Get them tested and see. If they have issues they're either cheap junk reman units not worth using, or older and well used. Trust but verify with anything old, or old and German. As well as a complex engine in general.
Sometimes people buy newer (supposedly) ones which are also bad. That's why I wouldn't trust a used injector on anything old and German. I'd either buy them from Bosch, or get rebuilt ones unless I can rebuild it for a lot less.
Thank u so much for now I advised him to get the old ones reconditioned.Iam still wondering on the fuel circuit. How does it work does power go through a relay b4 it goes to the pump if so which one ? Can I get help with the circuit diagram

This is probably their weekend toy so if it takes a while they may not worry. Most of the time these are weekend toys they don't drive everyday.
